Off the Mat: Simple Joys

Lately, I’ve been getting worked up about things over which I have no control. With the seemingly unending anger, violence, and discord that has become part of everyday life, I find myself emotionally drained and disheartened by what I see happening locally, nationally, and throughout the world. The simple act of respecting others has vanished.

I know I’m not alone.

On the Mat: The Art of Letting Go

The time on our yoga mat offers an opportunity to observe how we grasp and cling in our practice and in our lives. Holding a yoga posture for more than a few seconds can feel like an eternity. Sometimes your face scrunches, your jaw tightens, your toes grip, your shoulders tense, your breath stops, and your mind says, "I want out!"
